FIRE AND WATER
On the morning of Tisha B’Av, 5th August 2014, at 7.50 am just 10 minutes before a three day ceasefire, Gush Etzion was fired upon. A piece of rocket from Gaza fell a meter away from the bus stop next to the school in Alon Shvut, after missing the swimming pool and water tower.
8.00 a.m. is usually the busiest time – hundreds of kids coming to school, the swimming pool full, everyone coming to work at the town council and community centre. However, on Tisha B’Av nobody was around to be injured! All of us were in Shul, fasting, saying Kinnot, praying for the wellbeing of our brave soldiers and the recovery of the wounded.
The next morning, at 8am, we were back - swimming in the pool.
Am Yisrael Chai.
Efrat - Gush Etzion.
