Telfed’s PRAS student /community project has recently completed its 7th year of operation. Over 90 applications were received for the PRAS scholarship at the onset of  the 2008/2009 academic year. Ultimately after screening, 55 students were accepted due to suitability and budgetary limitations.

To date some 150 families and individuals in the Southern African community with special requirements for assistance have been recipients of PRAS.  The programme offers services such as Hebrew lessons for Olim chadashim; help with homework and school assignments for pupils with language and other scholastic or developmental difficulties; big brother/sister to children of single parents as well as assisting lonely and disabled elderly.

PRAS continues to receive positive feedback. We have received many letters and calls during the year thanking us for the wonderful service. In general there was amazing enthusiasm shown from both the recipients in the community and the students alike.
We are proud to relay that it was a very successful PRAS year.

We are now accepting new applications from students interested in joining the project for the 2009/2010 academic year.  If you are interested in joining you are welcome to submit your application which can be downloaded from the Telfed web site -  www.telfed.org  or
you can contact Tzippi – telephone – 09-7907805 at the Telfed offices.
