Last month, 23 of us met at the beautiful home of Telfed Vice Chairperson Batya Shmukler in Raanana. As part of the new Women's Circle, organized by both the Jewish Agency and Telfed, we met in order to get to know other Anglos living in Raanana, explore ways to volunteer in the community, and by the way: help each other when we can!
After toasting the New year, we were treated to a flower and table arranging workshop by Ronit Levine. We learned creative and inexpensive ways to enhance the chag's table settings and create flower arrangements.
This was followed by Ruthi Moran, the social worker at Achuzat Beit retirement home, who described volunteering opportunities with English speaking residents at Achuzat Beit. Several of the participants added their own experiences 'adopting' a senior and warmly recommended it.
Finally, Dorron Bacher, volunteer coordinator at the Ra’anana muncipality suggested different programs that the group might consider when seeking to volunteer in the community.
We thank you all for coming!
We feel this is a great beginning and an opportunity for each of us to help our community and each other.
We'll be sending out emails to update you but in the meantime, LIKE our new 'Raanana Women's Circle FACEBOOK Page here.
This is the place to exchange information, request for help and share experiences.
Shana Tova and Hatima Tova to all and may we have many enjoyable and fruitful meetings.
