Telfed Netanya decided to explore their neighbouring town of Tel Mond this week. Our first visit was to the Lord Mond Museum where we learned about the history of Tel Mond. We were amazed at the way the town has developed in such a short time from a few tents to the attractive small town we see today. The convivial town with its surrounding orange orchards is a haven where we immediately felt at home. Our museum tour was followed by a visit to the Biscotti restaurant where everyone got to know each other over delicious coffee and cake. Our last port of call was a visit to the new Mevasser Tzion shul where everyone was enthralled by the story told by Charlotte and Dennis Wiener of how the Pietersburg shul was transported from South Africa to Tel Mond. A group of very happy explorers went home having learned a lot more about their friendly neighbouring town of Tel Mond.
