Where to for Iran?

Peter Bailey, Chairman of Telfed's Events Committee, wrote an informative and relevant article on Iran, published in the Jerusalem Post on 7 May 2018 titled: "Where to for Iran?"

Born and raised in Brakpan, Peter was conscripted for compulsory military service in South Africa where he rose to the rank of Major, having served as an armored corps squadron commander in the Light Horse Regiment. Peter was the National Chairman of the South African Jewish Ex Service League (military veterans) for 8 years prior to making Aliyah. He and his wife, Jeanne, followed their three children to Israel. Peter worked in the glass industry in South Africa and now follows his other passion – writing. A published author, Peter writes for the Jerusalem Report and the Jerusalem Post. Peter's book 'Street names in Israel' (available at the Telfed offices) provides an historical account of the most common street names in Israel.

In the five years that Peter has been in Israel he has made a valuable contribution to Telfed. If you would like to take part in a Telfed event, or if you have ideas for events that you would like to share with Peter, please contact him by email at or contact Dana at
