Acknowledging a Philanthropic Partnership

Last week, Telfed was pleased to host the Trustees of the Graham and Rhona Beck Foundation, Israel, with whom the organisation has shared a philanthropic partnership over the last 5 years.  The Foundation was established in memory of Rhona and Graham Beck, the renowned South African businessman, winemaker, stud farmer and philanthropist.  For the past few years, Telfed has been privileged to work with the Graham and Rhona Beck Foundation, Israel in fulfilling their charitable objectives in Israel.

Their legacy continues to be felt internationally through the Foundation’s investment in a significant number of projects (such as the Skills Centre named after them in Robertson, SA, a training centre to assist underprivileged people in the community). Described in a prominent wine magazine as “mortal, but not mere, neither in size nor inspiration”, Beck saw his greatest achievement in life as his ability to “give employment to thousands of people, enabling them to better their lives”.  For her part, Rhona is remembered as being "always generous, charming, humble, kind and considerate”, traits that are embodied in the work of the Foundation today.

The meeting provided an opportunity to go over matters of mutual interest, whilst expressing appreciation to the Trustees, with whom a warm friendship is enjoyed over and above business matters.
