Telfed's Networking Workshop for Jobseekers

Uri Bar-Ner, former Shaliach and workshop facilitator, with Michal Merten, career counsellor

TELFED’s career counselor Michal Merten joined forces with Uri Bar-Ner, a former Shaliach to South Africa who now helps minorities integrate into the Israeli workforce, to put forward a thought-provoking and informative employment workshop.

Reflecting the well-known saying that 'it's not about what you know, it's about who you know', the workshop focused on networking.

Uri walked the participants though a variety of networking exercises, including the "Six levels of separation exercise", listening before speaking, and how to make connections.

Michal expertly introduced the participants to LinkedIn and explained how they can maximize the benefits of the leading networking platforms used by recruiters and headhunters in Israel today.

Two workshops have been scheduled and will include the following: preparing your elevator pitch, braving the job interview and not being shy about speaking Hebrew. It gives us great satisfaction to impart these valuable skills and to see our Olim find their way in the Israeli job market.
